NEWS FOR SPEAKERS AND THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO BECOME SPEAKERS


TESOL-SPAIN is once again offering  two individual grants at the 2006 National Convention in Madrid


 GRANT 1: FIRST-TIME SPEAKER GRANT (for anybody speaking at a TESOL-SPAIN convention for the first time) 

 GRANT 2: ROBIN DE ANDRÉS GRANT (for presentations related to primary or secondary education in Spain)

 CONDITIONS 

  1. Applicants for both grants must be Spanish residents, as well as current members of TESOL SPAIN.

  2. The grants include free conference registration, and are intended to cover travel and accommodation costs up to a maximum of 250 euros. 

  3. The grant will be paid by the Treasurer of TESOL-SPAIN after the talk has been given, and on presentation of original receipts for the costs claimed. 

  4. Applicants must send in the Presentation Proposal Form and the corresponding documents, together with a letter of application explaining why he or she should be awarded the grant they seek. 

  5. The application should clearly indicate which of the 2 grants the speaker is applying for.

  6. Applications must be sent to the Vice-president of TESOL-SPAIN at the following address:

    Asturias.

  7. The full application must be received before October 31st, 2005. 

  8. Nobody holding an official post in TESOL-SPAIN can apply. 

  9. A committee consisting of the Regional Officer, Speaker Resource Coordinator, Convention Speaker Coordinator, Vice-President and President will select the winning candidate for each grant. 

  10. Grants can be shared if there are two equally appropriate presentation proposals.

  11. Grants will be withheld if none of the presentations submitted is considered to be of the required standard. 

  12. The decision of the grant committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

  13. Candidates will be informed of the decision by January 16th , 2006.

The winner of the ‘First-time Speaker’ grant will receive support from a TESOL-SPAIN board member if they require it during the preparation of their presentation.
