TRAVEL INFORMATION HOTEL ACCOMMODATION Hotel accommodation in San Sebastián is limited and very dispersed. The hotels near the beach are, as one can imagine, much more expensive than those in other areas. The Convention centre, St. Patrick's English School, is situated in the Bera-Bera area in the south of the city. The nearest, best and cheapest hotel is the Hotel Palacio de Aiete which is about fifteen minutes' walk from the site. It is a four star hotel and boasts a gymnasium and sauna and is highly recommended. The following buses connect the hotel with the city centre and the B2, the night bus also passes by the hotel. Day buses are the 31, 19, 23 and G1. A taxi into the centre would cost approximately €5. When asking about the hotel please always say "Hotel Palacio de Aiete" especially during the day so as not to confuse it with the actual Aiete Palace. THIS HOTEL IS NOW COMPLETELY BOOKED. CONNECTING ACCOMMODATION IN MADRID For those people who have to make a change of planes in Madrid and have to stay overnight, rather than come into the city, I can also offer a special rate at the GSM Hotel Auditorium based at Madrid Barajas Airport, Prices are PER ROOM per night, include breakfast, VAT and free shuttle bus Airport Terminal/Hotel/Airport Terminal. Maximum stay one night and it is important to show either airticket/Copy of Reservation showing E ticket number/Boarding Card · Single or double 91.00 · Triple 124.00 FLIGHTS SPANAIR have offered discounts of between 25 - 30% on their internal flights, the cheapest from madrid which amounts to Euros 120,00 plus airport taxes (Euros 31.80) plus service fee of Euros 13,00. These flight would have to be booked direct with JENNY BROWN TRAVEL. HOWEVER, if people are prepared to take the risk and book now, flights can be secured at Euros 68,80 all inclusive if it is done on the web. This is a limited offer and once the allocation has been taken, then the discount SPANIAR is offering will be well worth it. PLEASE NOTE that although Bilbao is not that far away from San Sebastian as the crow flies, public transport connections from Bilbao Airport to San Sebastian are not that good. You would have to take a bus from Bilbao Airport into the city and then connect with a bus to San Sebastian. If you give Jenny Brown your flight details even though you have booked them yourselves so that if they are enough people travelling on the same plane a minibus/coach may be organised from the airport to the hotel and vice versa.
