Ian BADGER is co-author of the 'Multilevel Business English Programme' (Prentice Hall), a series of course books and self study materials for students who need English for work purposes. He has experience in of teaching English for business in university, adult education, language school and company environments, and in running training seminars for teachers and prospective teachers of business English. He also has particular interests in teaching English for the medical professions. He is a partner in Business and Medical English Services, Bristol, UK.

Claire BALCH has been teaching EFL since 1984. After working in London and Madrid she moved to Barcelona and has worked in ESADE Idiomas for the last 11 years. Her speciality area has been in Saturation Courses where students are exposed to English for 11 hours a day. During these courses she has developed activities where the students use affective as well as cognitive learning approaches. She is also a member of SEAL Spain with special interests in Accelerated Learning and NLP.

Annie BANKS has been teaching young children in Spain for the last 12 years. Her speciality has been to develop visual materials as well as activities to stimulate and maintain pupils' interest. She is an active member of TESOL-Spain and SEAL, participating in many workshops as a speaker offering ideas to other teachers.

Cary BARNEY teaches ESL and composition writing at Saint Louis University, Madrid Campus. He has an M.F.A. in Playwriting from the Yale School of Drama and a B.A. in Theatre from Marlborough College. He has worked extensively with Spanish actors on their pronunciation in English.

Asunción BARRERAS GÓMEZ es profesora de la Escuela Universitaria de Magisterio de la Universidad de la Rioja. Hamish BINNS studied Human Sciences at Oxford University and has worked in various teaching establishments in South America and Spain, including the Rudolph Steiner school in Santiago de Chile. He works as a teacher of English at Saint Louis University. With his brother Niall he founded the Tertulia de Inglés in the Old Fox Tavern, Madrid, which appeared on TVE 2, and in El Mundo. He also plays the spoons.

Niall BINNS studied Classics at Oxford University and has a Ph.D. in Spanish-American Literature at the Complutense University in Madrid. He works as a teacher of English language and literature at Saint Louis University. With his brother Hamish he founded the Tertulia de Inglés in the Old Fox Tavern, Madrid, which appeared on TVE 2, and in El Mundo. He doesn't play the spoons.

Jeannine BOGAARD has a Teaching Credential in Bilingual Education from the State of California for kindergarten through twelfth grade. She has taught at a bilingual school in Madrid for nine years.

David BUMSTEAD Has a degree in History from University College Cardiff, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Wales and the Cervantes Título Superior issued by the University of Salamanca. Has 17 years of experience teaching History, English, EFL and Spanish for the British Council in Sudan, in Wales, Sweden, the USA and in Guipúzcoa where he also works as a translator. He is the Director of International Language Services (Interlang) in Gipuzkoa and the Spain representative of Visiting International Faculty (VIF). He has travelled to 70 countries on all 5 continents and contributes articles and photos to several magazines

Robert CAMPBELL is editor of iT's Magazine, the magazine for teachers and students of English. He has also created and published a series of projects. In 1995 he co-wrote and published 3SIXTY5, a book providing teachers with an idea for every day of the year. He is working on exploiting the possibilities of the Internet with the iT's-on-line site.

Gerard COUNIHAN is an Irish BA & H Dip who has been involved in TEFL for the past ten years. Based in San Sebastián, where he is Head of Studies in a multi-media centre for language learning, he is currently researching into the possibility of improving the flow of dialogue in conversation classes for non-natives. In an attempt to tackle the latter, a perennially difficult task, he is carrying out a study of all the relevant material dealing with the analysis of native-native verbal exchanges, in the hope that the conclusions drawn will be transferable to the EFL domain.

Matthew CRUICKSHANK works at ESADE Idiomas in Barcelona. He works as a language teacher and teacher trainer. In addition to his involvement in applications for Co-operative learning theory he is interested in task design, and the development of the writing and speaking skills.

Ricardo CUBERO LORÓN es Técnico de Selección de Personal del Instituto Nacional de Empleo (INEM). Lleva 12 años trabajando en el tema del proceso de selección, especializándose en la pruebas de idiomas.

Patricia DELAMERE is Director of the Department of Applied Languages and Associate Professor of English at the Universidad Europea de Madrid. She previously held the post of Associate Professor of English at the University of Huelva in Andalucia. Prior to coming to Spain she was head of the English as a Second Language programs at the University of Washington in Seattle, U.S.A. She received her doctorate in Multi-lingual Education in 1986 from the Florida State University. She has published various articles on language pedagogy, has taught in Africa, France, England and the U.S.A and has delivered numerous papers and workshops at professional conferences.

Jone DIAZ URBIETA, after completing a technical degree in Congress and Exhibition Organization, studied history at the University of the Basque Country. She has taught Basque to children and adults for many years at Hitzez Euskaltegia, San Sebastián and taught Spanish at Moss Street Elementary and Lincoln Middle Schools in North Carolina in 1996-7. She is a licensed North Carolina State teacher. Since returning to Europe she has combined her teaching of Basque with being the Spain representative of Visiting International Faculty (VIF) and working in International Language Services (Interlang) in San Sebastian. She has travelled to over 40 countries and contributes articles and photos to several magazines.

Mercedes DIEZ PRADOS holds a degree in English Philology at the Universidad Complutense and a Master's degree from the University of Chicago-Champaigne. She is working on her PhD at UCM, based on cohesion and coherence in EFL. She has been a materials writer and currently teachers discourse analysis at the University of Alcalá de Henares. She is co-author of the secondary education series 'Making Moves' (Edelvives).

Michael DOWNIE vive en España, donde trabaja como autor y formador de profesorado. Helen EVANS used to work for the International Baccalureat as Coordinator for their examinations. She was appointed Director of the Language Group at Trinity College London in December 1997 and is responsible for all Trinity ESOL and TESOL examinations in more than 55 countries around the world.

Lucia FELIU ZAMORA has been teaching in Secondary Education since 1990. She has also been teaching 'Inglés Técnico Sanitario' since 1994 at Escuela Universitaria Ciencias de la Salud, Algeciran University of Cádiz.

Gwyneth FOX taught EFL in Italy and Luxembourg, and then worked at Birmingham Polytechnic, running courses in TEFL and Applied Linguistics. She worked at COBUILD from 1981-97, and is now a consultant to the COBUILD project and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, where she teaches English Language.

Isabel GARCÍA GARCÍA es Profesora de Educación Secundaria y actualmente imparte docencia en el I.B. Francisco de Vitoria de Vitoria-Gasteiz. Durante cinco años desarrolló en el aula experiencias de innovación educativa autorizadas por el Departamento de Educación, Universidades e Investigación del Gobierno Vasco. Dennis GOODMAN is Regional Head of Studies for Opening English School, Madrid. He holds a BA in Comparative Literature and an MSc in Teaching English.

Ron GREEN is a member of the English Philology Department of the Universidad Europea de Madrid where, in addition to his teaching duties he is the Course Coordinator for all English, French and German classes. He has been involved in TESOL-Spain since 1978 and a member of the Executive Board since 1982. He has held all Officer posts and is currently Treasurer. In addition he has represented TESOL-Spain at numerous local, national and international conferences and in 1995 was awarded the Virginia French Allen Award for Academic Excellence and Service to TESOL given by TESOL International at the 29th Annual Convention held in Long Beach, California.

Jill GRIMSHAW has been working in the EFL Division at UCLES since 1990; she has been closely involved with the development of the CAE examination and the revision of the FCE examination. Her main responsibility now is for developing the EFL Division's teacher support programme. She previously taught EFL in Italy and in the Middle East. She has an MA in Applied Linguistics from Lancaster University.

Guido GROESCHEL has a combined seven years of experience as a teacher of EFL and ESL. He has taught in Spain, in the United States, and in Brazil where he was a United States Information Agency English Teaching Fellow at Associaçao Cultural Brasil-Estados Unidos (Salvador, Bahia). Guido Groeschel is currently an EFL teacher at Centro Inglés in Segovia, Spain. He holds an MA in TESOL from the University of Texas-Pan American, and his primary interests are writing, curriculum design, and assessment.

Ana HALBACH teaches English, Syntax and Methodology at the Univerisidad de Alcalá. She holds an MSc and a PhD in Teaching English. Her current interests include learner autonomy, strategy training and teacher education.

Cathy HALL has eight years of teaching experience in ESL/EFL. She has an MA in TESOL and is finishing an MA in Instructional Technology. Her interests lie in training teachers to effectively integrate technology into their curricula and in using the Internet to create new learning environments for second language learning.

Mark HANCOCK holds an MSc in Teaching English from Aston University. He has taught EFL in Spain, Brazil and Turkey and is currently a materials writer based in Madrid. He is author of 'Pronunciation Games' (Cambridge University Press).

Michael HARRY, is the Director of etcetera (english teaching theatre, contemporary english theatre, educational resource association). He is also a teacher, teacher trainer, language consultant, author of school textbooks and writer of multi-media material.

Izabella HEARN has over 20 years' experience in TEFL, starting at International House London, and moving on to Central America and Spain. At present she is Head of Primary Education Induction English at a British School in Madrid, where she has been working since 1985. For the past ten years she has been involved in teaching training and has given workshops in Argentina, Spain, Turkey and the United States, in addition to publishing material up to 7th Grade and working on the adaptation of English Parade. Izabella Hearn is a member of the Executive Board of TESOL-Spain and has served on the ESL/Mother Tongue Committee of the European Council of International Schools.

Marjory HUTCHISON DE MEDINA has an MA in English Language and Literature from Edinburgh University. She first started teaching English under Michael Swan in Oxford, and since then she has taught (mainly ESP) in Laos, and Turkey. She now teaches in Spain, where she has lived since 1980. She has been teaching ESL and composition courses at Saint Louis University, Madrid Campus, since 1990. She is also coordinator of English at the Madrid Diplomatic School.

Iñaki IRIONDO SAEZ holds a B.A. Hons in Spanish and Portuguese from Leeds University and a degree in English from the Universidad de La Laguna. He taught English Phonetics and Phonology at the Universidad de Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. He's also given a course of lectures and workshops in English Phonetics and Phonology for the E.O.I. and has collaborated on the COTE programme course organised by the British Council in Las Palmas. He is currently a member of the English Department at E.O.I. in Las Palmas.

Michael JACKSON has been involved in ELT as a teacher and teacher trainer for 25 years and has worked in the Gulf, Latin America, East Asia and Europe as a teacher trainer, and as a Director of British Council Teaching centres. He is currently General Manager of the UCLES Foundation in Spain and has a particular interest in the requirements of the business community.

Karl KALISKI is Assistant Director of Studies at Cambridge School, Granollers, where he has been working for eight years. He regularly leads workshops and seminars both at Cambridge School and at the other language centres in Catalunya.

Donna KUNIHOLM DURAN is presently teaching ESP at the Universidad Europea de Madrid with special interests in the fields of business and technical English and material development. She has extensive experience in ESL and EFL in Cultural Centres in Paraguay and Madrid, in American Universities (Boston University, Babson College and Bentley College) and at Saint Louis University, Madrid Campus.

Richard LaROSE has been on the staff of ESADE Idiomas in Barcelona since 1985. Before receiving his M.A. in TEFL in 1980 he worked in professional theatre for 10 years as an actor and director. In the early 80's he led teacher-training workshops on Using Drama Techniques in the Language Classroom throughout the U.S.. Since joining the staff of ESADE Idiomas he has held a number of positions including Co-ordinator of the centre's Teacher Development program, Summer Intensive Courses and Young Learners program. In Spain he has given many workshops on Effective Use of Video as well as Active Learning Techniques. He is currently working on the development of a T.V. programme in English for a Spanish educational channel.

Christina LATHAM-KOENIG has been working at the British Institute Valencia since 1988. Before that she worked at International House, both in Spain and in the UK. She is an RSA tutor and has trained both native and non-native teachers in Spain and has run several courses for the Conselleria de Educación. Before working on 'English File' for Oxford University Press, she previously wrote the Workbook for 'Intermediate Signals' for Lingual House.

Nina LAUDER has been teaching EFL in Seville for the last six years. She has taught all age groups but has chosen to focus her energy on working with young learners. She was responsible for setting up an Intensive Summer Program for children last year. She runs her own puppet theatre (Bat-i-Burrillo) which offers didactic programs to schools as well as offering lively children's shows. She is currently teaching at the Centro Norteamericano and doing freelance classes in homes and offices.

Anne LAWRIE works as a tutor at the Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT) at the University of Stirling, Scotland where she teaches both teachers and students of ELT. She has also worked in West Africa, China, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. she is interested in creating practical activities which help students overcome the problem of acculturation in all EFL classrooms.

Mark LAZAR is the Director of the Institute of International Education East Central European regional office in Budapest, Hungary. In this capacity, he serves as the regional representative to the Educational Testing Service and the TOEFL exam.

Alba Cristina LOYO Teaches Language and English Literature at the Universidad Nacional Cuyo and is a Full-Time Professor in ESP (Engineering and Humanities) and English Literature in the Department of Languages at the Universidad Nacional de Rio Cuarto, Argentina. At present she is carrying out Postgraduate Studies in Educational Technology, University of Salamanca, Spain.

Barry LYNAM is the National Manager of Trinity College London in Spain. He has been active as a teacher, DoS, Centre Director and Administrator in TEFL in Sri Lanka, the UK and Spain for over 20 years.

Anne McCABE teaches writing courses and ESL at Saint Louis University's Madrid Campus. She is a member of the TESOL-Spain Board, and is currently working on a Ph.D. in comparative text analysis.

Michael McCAY is owner and director of Éire Language and Information Services in Zarautz, Gipuzkoa, providing EFL, translation and Internet services to local residents as well as schools and companies.  He is currently serving on the board of TESOL-Spain

Alexandra McCORMACK teaches English at the Universidad Nacional Rio Cuarto, Argentina. She is a Full-Time Professor of ESP (Veterinary Science) at the Department of Languages of the, Universidad Nacional de Rio Cuarto. - Fulbright Scholar carrying out Postgraduate Studies in Educational Media and Computers, University of Arizona, 1996-98.

Annie McDONALD holds an MSc in Teaching English from Aston University. She has taught EFL in Spain, Brazil and Turkey and currently teaches English at the Universidad de San Pablo Ceu, Madrid. She is a member of the TESOL-Spain Board.

Kate MARRIAGE teaches English at the University of Comillas in Madrid and works as a teacher-trainer in Spain and the UK.

Ana Mª MARTINEZ ALVAREZ is a teacher and materials writer currently teaching EFL at EOI-Fuenlabrada. She holds a degree in English Philology from the university of Oviedo and has been the co-ordinator of the EOI self-access library for the last three years. She works in the areas of self-access and is the co-author of the secondary education series 'Making Moves' (Edelvives).

Stuart MATTHEWS is National Head of Studies for Opening English School. He has a BA in Modern Languages & literature and is currently completing an MA in Applied Linguistics and English Language.

Patrick MILLS is the Director of ESADE-Escuela de Idiomas and has devoted the greater part of his professional life to the growth of this department ever since its foundation in 1965. He has been an active figure in the furthering of English language teaching in Barcelona and headed the organising committee of the Mediterranean Institute in its pioneering years. He is interested not only in classroom teaching and the management of language teaching centres but also in the numerous similarities between the two functions.

Peter MOOR has been teaching English since 1982. He worked in Spain for several years as a teacher trainer and was a Director of Studies at International House, Madrid. Since the late 1980's he has been based at International House, London, but he has also taught and trained teachers in Portugal, Argentina, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland. As well as teaching, he and his co-author, Sarah Cunningham, have published a series of ELT textbooks and their new intermediate coursebook for adults, 'Cutting Edge' (Longman, 1998).

MOVING ON Theatre Company was formed with the aim of offering the English language through theatre in a dynamic, motivating and lively way, giving participants the opportunity to become actively involved in the stories through speech, song or just pure enjoyment. The company has performed throughout Spain, particularly with secondary schools and Escuelas Oficiales.

Steve NORMAN is the Director of Studies and Teacher Training at Cambridge School in Granollers. He regularly runs workshops for his own teachers and other teachers in the area. Last year he had a article published in the TESOL-Spain newsletter.

Susan NORMAN has been teaching, writing and training teachers in the field of ELT for longer than she cares to remember, specialising in business English and humanistic methodology. With Jane Revell, she wrote and published 'In Your Hands: NLP in ELT', and is now Managing Editor of 'English Teaching Professional' magazine.

Pauline O'CONNELL currently teaches at the Universidad Europea de Madrid, where she is coordinator of English in technical degree programs. She has over 20 years experience in EFL at ACHNA and the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria.

Mike ORR works at the British Council in Valencia.

Miguel OLIVERA TEJEDOR (RSA/COTE) is a secondary teacher at I.E.S. Vallecas in Madrid. He is a teacher trainer of 'Didactics applied to the teaching of second languages' at Comillas University in Madrid. He is the co-author of Burlington Books 'Navigator' for Bachillerato L.O.G.S.E. and 'Ready to Rock', a credit for 2º Ciclo for E.S.O. for Cataluña.

Gina OXBROW holds a degree in Spanish Language and Literature and English Philology and was awarded the RSA Dip TEFLA in 1990. She teachers English Language and Applied Linguistics at the University of Las Palmas and has also worked with the British Council in Las Palmas and Hong Kong. She has been involved in setting up and teaching various ELT Methodology courses, including the RSA/UCLES Certificate for Overseas Teachers of English (COTE). Her doctoral research is in the area of learning strategies in Second Language Acquisition.

Clive OXENDEN has been working at the British Institute Valencia since 1986. Before that he worked in the UK. He is an RSA tutor and has trained teachers in Kuwait, Algeria and Turkey as well as here in Spain. He has published 'OK', a four-level intensive summer course for Oxford University Press. Clive's latest title is 'English File' (OUP).

Mª Jesús PARAMO GUTIÉRREZ is a secondary teacher at I.E.S. Baelo Claudia in Tarifa. She is a teacher trainer who has given many courses in C.E.Ps throughout Spain on 'Medios Audiovisuales', 'Diseño Curricular' and 'Evaluation and Learner Development'. She is the co-author of the series 'The Burlington Courses for E.S.O.' and 'Burlington Top Class'.

Rosa Mª PRIETO GALLEGO is a teacher and materials writer currently teaching EFL at the EOI-Valdezarza (Madrid). She holds a degree in English Philology from the Universidad Complutense and a Master's degree from the University of Winconsin-Madison. She works in the areas of EFL writing and EFL methodology teaching. She is co-author of the secondary education series 'Making Moves' (Edelvives)

Jane REVELL is a well-known ELT teacher-trainer and materials writer (being the author of 'Buzz', 'Cross Country' and 'Connect'). She is also a Master Practitioner of NLP and an NLP trainer. She additionally works as a counsellor specialising in Ericksomian hypnotherapy and stress management techniques, and has recently co-authored a book with Susan Norman on using Neuro-Linguistic Programming in the English Language classroom called 'In Your Hands'.

Mabel RIVERO DE MAGNAGO is a Full-Time Professor of Language I and ESP (Humanities and Economics) at the Department of Languages at the Universidad Nacional de Rio Cuarto, Argentina.

Hilary ROSS is a trained designer and has worked as both a secondary art teacher and teacher of English to adult and child learners. She is currently attending an N.L.P. practitioner course. Above all, she values awareness and has been basing her teaching on suggestopedic techniques since 1994. She is a member of S.E.A.L.

Idoia SAEZ OLABARRIA graduated in English Philology at the University of Deusto in 1990. After several years of professional experience, she set up her own business (Lynx Idiomas) where she could develop her interest in communication skills training.

Judi SHAW is currently an Assistant Professor in the Foreign Language Core at Kanazawa Institute of Technology in Japan. Besides teaching core language skills and composition, she is also interested in teaching creative writing and writing poetry. Ms. Shaw's background includes over 15 years experience in the computer industry and ceramic sculpture, providing a unique blend of science and art to EFL/ESL pedagogy.

Juan M. SIERRA PLO es Profesor de la Facultad de Filología, Geografía e Historia de la UPV/EHU y Profesor de Educación Secundaria en excedencia. Durante cinco años desarrolló en el aula experiencias de innovación educativa autorizadas por el Departamento de Educación, Universidades e Investigación del Gobierno Vasco. Como Asesor Lingüístico del C.O.P. participó en la elaboración y difusión de los D.C.B. de lengua extranjera de la C.A.V. Ha dirigido cursos de formación para profesores de lenguas extranjeras, impartiendo docencia en los mismos, ha difundido su experiencia docente en distintas ponencias, seminarios, cursos, y publicaciones.

Peter SKEHAN is Professor of English Language Teaching at Thames Valley University, London U.K. He holds a University of London Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics. He has worked in TESOL in EFL schools in France, in industrial language training in the U.K., and in an EAP context at Birmingham University. He has held appointments at the University of Birmingham, the Institute of Education, London University, and Thames Valley University. His current interests are in individual differences in language learning; language testing; and second language acquisition, especially task-based instruction. His main publications include 'Individual Differences in Second Language Learning' (Arnold 1989), and 'A Cognitive Approach to Language Learning' (OUP 1988).

Fiona SMITH has taught English in Spain and England and worked for a number of years in Theatre in Education (T.I.E.), writing and performing, both in Spain and the UK. She is now an editor of secondary materials and Teacher Trainer for Burlington Books.

Barbara STEVENS is currently teaching English at the UPC (ICAI-ICADE). She has previously held posts at the Universidad Europea de Madrid, Saint Louis University, Madrid Campus and the British Institute, Madrid and the University of Essex England. She has an RSA Dip TEFL and an M.Sc in Teaching English from Aston University, where she is now working on her Ph.D. in Classroom Research. She is vice-Secretary of TESOL-Spain.

Gerry SWEENEY has divided his time between EFL teaching and management of the ESADE Language School since 1981. He has had responsibility for running the Language for Management programme for ESADE's BBA and MBA students, for materials production and purchasing, co-ordinating the design, building and fitting out of the Language School's new premises, and is currently a member of the Language School's Steering Committee and co-ordinator of the In-Company Language Training Unit.

Stephanie TAYLOR es formadora de profesorado y autora con muchas años de experiencia. Dede TEELER set up the Internet Classroom at International House in Barcelona, where she is a teacher and teacher trainer. She has been teaching EFL in Spain for 10 years, including programs at Ramón Llull and Pompeu Fabra Universities. An active member of TESOL-Spain and IATEFL, she has given numerous workshops on methodology and learner autonomy, and is directing a new teacher training course called Bytes of ELT: Advanced Technology in the Classroom.

Lesley THOMPSON has taught children and adults in England and Spain. She is a teacher trainer and has coordinated the RSA/UCLES COTE course. At present she is English Consultant for Ediciones S.M.

Catherine TINDLE has worked as a professional actress with the Madrid Players, and taught English to children and adults. Formerly a teacher of the ONCE and the Air Ministry, she now specialises in materials development for Richmond Publishing.

Kim TURNER is coordinator for Business courses and an English teacher at the Universidad Europea de Madrid. She has worked as a teacher and a teacher trainer for International House and the British Council, and now specialises in the area of business English for university students.

Arturo UGALDE has worked in EFL teacher training in Chile and Brazil. He has also been involved in language teaching programs both in the UK and in Spain. He is currently teaching business English courses at the Universidad Europea de Madrid, and is finishing his Ph.D. research in the area of strategies of communication and their implication for interlanguage change over time.

Margarita VINAGRE LARANJEIRA tiene un masters en lingüística aplicada por Trinity College Dublin y es doctora en lengua y lingüística inglesa por la Universidad de Sevilla. Sus áreas de investigación son morfosintaxis generativa y la aplicación de nuevas tecnologías al aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras. Actualmente es profesora de inglés para fines específicos en la Universidad Europea de Madrid.

Sue WHARTON teaches on the MSc in Teaching English at Aston University, UK. Her previous job was with London University exam board. She is interested in language testing and descriptions of academic discourse.

Brian WINN-SMITH is Director of the Eurolink TESOL Distance-training Centre in Sheffield, UK. He is also secretary of ACDEC -the Accreditation Council for TESOL Distance Education Courses. He has been in ELT and teacher-training for 25 years. Formerly Head of the TESOL Centre at Sheffield Polytechnic (now Sheffield Hallam University) and Director of Teacher Training at Eaton Hall International, Nottinghamshire, his special interest is the development of TESOL distance-training programmes. He is a distance learning consultant for a number of institutions in the UK and overseas including the British Council.

Reuben WOOLLEY has a Cert. Ed. In Theatre and English from the Bretton Hall College of Education, University of Leeds. He recently finished his MSc (TEFL) from the Language Studies Unit at Aston University of Birmingham, England. His special interests include Discourse Analysis and Corpus Studies (Medical English) and Conversation Analysis (L2 Classroom Language). He arrived in Spain 22 years ago on the first stage of working his way around the world and has yet to move on. Most of his work has been in private language schools. He participated as teacher trainer in a recycling course for junior school teachers organised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and collaborated in the International Summer Courses of the University of Salamanca (1981-86). He now has a small language school in Zaragoza and also does a lot of translation work (mainly medical research articles).

Brenda WRIGHT has taught immigrant children in the UK, secondary students in Germany, and adult learners in Spain and Belgium. Having specialised in teaching English for Business in ESADE, Barcelona, she has presented papers on The Use of Video Recording for Feedback (APAC, TESOL, ENCODE), Business Tasks (APAC, TESOL) and Cultural Awareness (ENCODE, BESIG).

Marina WYNIA works for the Aula de Idiomas / Universidad de las Palmas Gran Canaria and has been co-director of the RSA/UCLES Certificate for Teachers of English (COTE). She has been teaching languages since 1987 and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree (MAT) from the School for International Training, Brattleboro, Vermont, USA.

Theresa ZANATTA has been the Director of the Adult English program at the North American Institute in Barcelona. During this time, she has worked as an instructor in the 'Junior and Teen's Program', as a co-ordinator in the English for Professionals Department, and as a director of the North American Institute in Badalona. She has taught English to primary aged children for ten years and has given teacher training workshops on teaching English, curriculum design, continuous assessment and task-based teaching in Canada, the United States and Europe. She is author of 'English Parade' (Longman, 1997).
