Neurodivergent Language Teachers - a lived experience white paper

Based on responses from 221 neurodivergent language teachers worldwide, this paper explores a topic that is still largely missing from professional conversations in our field: the lived experiences of neurodivergent teachers in language education.

The findings reveal a reality that can no longer be ignored in our profession. For example, 42% of respondents do not disclose their neurodivergence at work, only 15% of formally diagnosed respondents were diagnosed before the age of 18, and 89% say they are interested in neurodiversity-focused CPD tailored to teachers, while only 8% report receiving regular workplace training on neurodiversity.
