In 2027, TESOL-SPAIN celebrates a remarkable milestone: fifty years of supporting English language teaching, fostering professional development, and building a vibrant community of educators.

Our theme, "50 Years: Past Perfect, Future Continuous" is both a celebration of our journey and a vision for what lies ahead.

Past Perfect invites us to reflect on all that has been achieved. Over five decades, TESOL-SPAIN has brought together teachers, trainers, researchers, and innovators who have shaped the profession through dedication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to learning. It is a moment to honour the experiences, achievements, and relationships that have made our association what it is today.

At the same time, Future Continuous reminds us that our story is still being written. The world of English language teaching continues to evolve in response to technological innovation, changing educational contexts, emerging research, and the diverse needs of learners. As educators, we remain curious, adaptable, and committed to growth.

The grammar-inspired theme reflects the essence of our profession. We celebrate what has been accomplished while recognising that learning, teaching, and professional development are ongoing processes. The past informs us, the present connects us, and the future inspires us.

As we gather in Madrid for this special anniversary convention, we invite participants to explore the lessons of the past, engage with the challenges of the present, and imagine the possibilities of the future.
